Application of HumiSeal® UV23-LV encapsulant

Cleanliness of the substrate is of extreme importance for the successful application of HumiSeal UV23-LV. Surfaces must be free of moisture, dirt, wax, grease, flux residues and all other contaminants. Adhesives can be successfully applied to substrates that have been cleaned prior to coating and also to substrates assembled with low residue “no clean” materials.  Users should perform adequate testing to confirm compatibility between the adhesives and their particular assembly materials, process conditions and cleanliness level.

HumiSeal® UV23LV is low viscosity, single-component epoxy-based UV curable adhesive and encapsulant. This product has been designed for applications that require the cure speed of a UV active polymer and the chemical resistance and high temperature performance of an epoxy. HumiSeal® UV23LV requires direct UV light for cure. Heat can accelerate this reaction. Ultimate glass transition temperature (135°C) and best chemical resistance are obtained by baking one hour at 150°C after UV curing.
